Company History
Rising Roll Gourmet began operating in Atlanta as Uptown Gourmet Sandwich Co. in 1996, when Jeff and Bob Weiss opened their first location. The concept began in a 1400 square foot space with 12 items on the menu and met with quick success. Rising Roll has rapidly grown in the Southeast and is poised for a national rollout.. After one year in business, Atlanta Magazine rated Rising Roll "the best sandwich shop in Atlanta".
Over the next few years, the menu that thrilled lunch crowds evolved with a unique array of freshly made sandwiches, salads and grilled Panini. In the end, it was the delicious and sophisticated combinations like "Killer Bleu Turkey" with crumbled blue cheese, bacon, tomato and 1000 Island dressing and "Spicy Crab", a baked crab cake topped with Chipotle mayonnaise, pepper jack cheese and coleslaw that solidified the Rising Roll difference and fueled the popularity and appeal.
The decision to franchise the Rising Roll concept was an easy one, since the formula for the Rising Roll success is a proven one. Rising Roll has a menu, atmosphere, and level of service supported by a well-defined operating system; and a reasonable cost of operation investment. |
